griot - ɡriːəʊ
someone who is responsible for keeping a record of the traditions and history of a group of people, mainly in West Africa,in the form of music, stories, or poetry.
The OpenGriot project is a framework for the collaborative development and sharing of localized literature for the use of African children. Most of the material on this site are free to use under various versions of the Creative Commons license. For specific permissions relating to each please see box at the bottom of their pages.
